Ermac serves Shao Kahn and is made up of hundreds of souls from dead fighters.The character Ermac started initially as just a rumor started by the word “ERMACS”, a contraction of “error macro”, randomly appearing in the original Mortal Kombat in the audits screen, which made dedicated fans think that it was a super secret hidden character in addition to Reptile. Furthering the rumor, a gamer claimed to a magazine to have fought a secret “red ninja”, using a doctored photo of Scorpion as evidence. As a troll joke, in MKII, the developers threw in a coded message that said “Ermac does not exist”.
Years later, however, the real character finally made it to the series in Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, which is what this figure takes its inspiration from. Just like his initial video game appearance, this SDCC exclusive is a based on the Scorpion model, but fully repainted and with his own unique, character-specific accessories.
